- On Thursday, September 7th, the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its first annual "Business Battlefield" at Heritage Park in Perry. This event was created by the Chamber's young professional members and is geared towards team building for businesses
in a fun,
active environment. Chamber President and CEO Darlene McLendon, opened the event with a welcome message and acknowledgement
of the sponsors including: Ashley Croley – State Farm, ComSouth, Flint Energies, 41NBC
, Cumulus Macon, I Heart Radio, and the Telegraph.
Just Tap’d of Warner Robins was on site providing players with a choice of refreshments while Big Bobby Reed from 99.1 WDEN (Cumulus Media) provided a mix of music for everyone to enjoy.
Eight businesses hosted a game and thirteen teams competed for an overall winner. The games included a
three legged race, "Pictionary", tug of war, go fish, noodle javelin, hippity hop, obstacle course, and battle ball
. Three teams tied for first place, prompting
a tie breaker to determine the overall winner. Team Country (Country Financial – Wendy Johnson Agency),
took home the first ever "Business Battlefield" trophy. Once engraved, Country Financial will have display and bragging rights for a year before passing it to next year's winning team. Be sure to drop by their location at 1023 Ball Street
to congratulate them on their win! (You can also make plans for your own team to compete in 2018 AND let them quote your insurance needs while you are there!!)
